1.1Personal Information

NPTM may request personal information, including your Name, Email, Phone number, Address, etc., while you interact with the NPTM website (www.nptmjournal.com) as follows.

When you register on the NPTM site, we will use your email address to send you updates and other types of notifications.

When you submit a manuscript to NPTM for review, we will require the following information to consider, review, and publish upon acceptance: your first name, middle name, last name, primary and secondary phone, fax number, email, position, institution, department, institution/work address, state or province, country, ORCID ID, preferred name, credit or other payment information.

When you register on the NPTM site, we will store your username and password in our database to recognise you at sign-in. Additionally, NPTM will process some basic information, such as email, name, and research interest, that is publicly available to register you as a potential reviewer or to contact you regarding publishing with NPTM on a particular topic.

If you do not wish to be contacted as a potential reviewer or for publication for any reason, you may email us at [email protected]. We may keep some of your personal information, which may be required if we need to recall your request or stop sending you the notifications you wish to unsubscribe from.

Using the NPTM site, we may collect and store demographic information, such as gender and ethnic origin, which you provide voluntarily. We use this information on an anonymised basis.

1.2Technical Information

On visiting/interacting with the NPTM website, we have access to your computer's IP address, the URL/domain name of any referring website, the timestamp of your visit and other information like clickstream data, which we collect and store generally to analyse for trends and statistics and possibly to diagnose and resolve issues that may arise on the NPTM website. We may use click-view data to display statistics on the number of views and downloads of a particular article. We also use cookies and other software tools to play back user sessions for internal use to understand users' interactions with the website, and these may be linked to your user account.

1.3Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

NPTM and our third-party partners, including analytics and advertising partners, use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect user information.

2.1Author Information

The author's personal information is used for processing, communicating, reviewing, facilitating editorial review, publishing, and facilitating the payment of APC (Article Processing Charges). We will also send you notifications, updates, and advertisements.

2.2Editor and Reviewer Information

We use the personal information of the editor and reviewer to request your assistance with reviewing and updating you on the notifications and developments at NPTM.

2.3Guest Users

As a guest user who simply visits the NPTM website to read its content, we use information, namely your URL and cookies, to improve user experience and for site analytics.

Other than the NPTM website, we may collect your personal information, such as name, email, address, and phone number, at conferences or events.

2.4Disclosure to Third Parties

When the author submits a manuscript at NPTM, we initially send the title and abstract to one or more potential external/volunteer editors and reviewers interested in reviewing the content. Upon their acceptance, the full manuscript will be sent, including any revisions or comments you provide. Upon acceptance of the paper for publication, we share the author's personal information, manuscript and other research content with the volunteer curator and our third-party partners for grammar checking, copyediting and formatting. We may send your manuscript to our preprint partners to post your work when you choose to preprint.

On publication of the manuscript in NPTM, the following information will appear as part of the paper: author, co-authors' names, affiliation, email, ORCID iD and other related information. We will also include the above information in the XML format of articles syndicated with other third-party partners for indexing.

Also, as part of this privacy policy, we may disclose reasonably necessary information to other third parties, including our vendor, consultants, financial institutions (for payment processing), web developers, hosting providers, and customer service providers, which is necessary to provide our service.

2.5No Sale or Leasing of Your Information

We do not sell or lease users' personal information to any third parties for any financial benefit or for any other purpose.

8.1Deletion of Personal Information

As a user of NPTM, you are entitled to claim us to delete your personal information from our database. For any such requirement, please submit your request to [email protected]. However, NPTM may retain your request on a legitimate interest to establish, exercise and defend a legal claim in case of necessity. If your article is published, we may retain your personal information to archive scientific research and for any competing interests.

8.2Data Access, Update and Other Rights

Registered users of NPTM are entitled to access, update, or modify their personal information, which may be out of date or have errors. Requests for technical help for such access/update should be sent to [email protected].
